Beige microcement on the floor and wall – a modern interior without joints

Nowadays, microcement is becoming increasingly popular as a modern and practical interior finish. Thanks to its durability, ease of cleaning and aesthetics, it fits perfectly into contemporary interior design trends. In the following article, we describe the creation of a spacious living room with a kitchenette and dining area, where Festfloor microcement was used on the floor and walls. The entire project was carried out by Project Microcement, a company specialising in the professional application of this material.

Microcement floor – Festfloor Life FL03 July Beige

One of the key elements of this project is the uniform, seamless floor covered with Festfloor Life microcement in the FL03 July Beige shade. This solution makes the space appear larger, while the natural, warm beige colour creates a pleasant, subdued atmosphere.

Using microcement on the floor is a great idea if you want a durable and easy-to-clean finish. Thanks to its jointless surface, microcement creates a uniform base for the entire interior, and its abrasion resistance makes it suitable for use in the living room, kitchen or hallway. What's more, microcement can be applied directly to existing tiles, which significantly speeds up and simplifies renovation.

The second, equally important element of the design is microcement on the walls in the shade Festfloor Go! FF2002JB July Go Beige. Covering the walls with microcement gave the interior a consistent aesthetic, and the smooth, subtle texture of the microcement allowed for a minimalist surface effect. The entire wall creates an interesting effect that beautifully reflects light.

Kitchen with microcement – functionality and aesthetics

In the kitchen area, furniture combined with a microcement wall above the worktop plays a key role. White lower cabinets – their smooth, neutral fronts visually enlarge the space and create a bright contrast to the microcement. The upper cabinets made of grooved wood – the warm shade of wood and the grooved texture add cosiness and an interesting visual accent to the interior. The microcement on the wall above the worktop protects the wall from dirt and moisture, and is easy to keep clean. This makes everyday use of the kitchen much more convenient and gives the food preparation area an elegant, consistent look.

Dining room and living room – the central meeting point

The dining area stands out with its simple yet warm forms:

  • A round wooden table – placed in the centre of the dining room, it is a natural focal point. Its natural grain contrasts perfectly with the smooth surface of the microcement floor.
  • Chairs matching the table – comfortable chairs with a simple form and wooden elements are the perfect complement to the table, while also introducing a pleasant, homely atmosphere.
  • Beige curtains at the windows – subtly warm up the interior and soften the sharp contours of the microcement. Thanks to them, the dining room gains a cosy character, encouraging longer gatherings at the table.

The living room has been designed with relaxation and functionality in mind:

  • a large, comfortable beige sofa – positioned opposite a wooden TV cabinet, creates a relaxation area with neutral, subdued colours.
  • wooden TV cabinet and television – the natural wood of the cabinet harmonises with the finish of the kitchen furniture, and the black TV screen subtly contrasts with the light background of the microcement on the wall.
  • greenery in pots – several potted plants enliven the space, introducing a pleasant touch of colour and warming up the interior.
  • lighting – modern lamps with simple, geometric shapes have been used above the table and in the seating area, adding a slightly industrial character to the interior while emphasising the uniformity of the microcement on the ceiling and walls.
